Why Start Blogging Now?

I know, I know, it’s 2019 and a lot of people feel blogs are “dying” and instagram is all that matters. Well, I disagree. While yes, I love that you can post a pic and a little caption (perfect amount of commitment for this working mama), I genuinely want to share and help others.

So often in my life I have been told that I am “too colorful” or need to dress like a “grown up” because of my love of wearing color. I grew to feel like in order to be taken seriously I had to wear dark colors and dress a certain way. This honestly had a serious affect for me. I started to become anxious and depressed. I finally got to the root of the problem and the answer was simple; lack of color. At this point I said F-it! It is my life and I will decide what I wear and how I feel. This led me to launch my brand The House of Perna.

Over the past 6 years, I have been able to share my love of color with my clients around the world through my brand, and have been able to mentor over 50 young women (and two men). I still felt like I could do more, share more, and help more people live their most authentic, colorful lives. I know what it is like to feel alone wearing hot pink in a world of black and white, and wanted to create a tribe that can share the world that we live in which is technicolor.
